Hi All Having a bit of a mental block!! LOL Ideas needed on where to search next. 1901 census......David Woodward 46 born Mold,Flintshire Living in Featherstone Yorkshire as a single boarder occupation miner. When and why he moved there is a mystery?? no family members or ties in the area...only presume he moved for work in mining. Family story is he never returned to Wales and no-one knows what happened to him ?? if he married at a late age or ??when he died. I have all his details up to this point...is the only answer the long wait til the 1911 census!!! LOL Sarah xxx |

Hello It could be that he never married, I have quite a few like that in my family - although never give up hope that they didnt marry I have a great uncle who got married for the first time at the age of 76! However, here is a possible death for him, only way to check is to obtain the certificate. Woodward, David 1903 March Age 48 Cardiff (1837-1974) The other possibility is that he might have emigrated. Regards Sue |

Sarah I have exactly the same problem. My gt. aunt is on the 1901 census as a nurse in Nottingham General Hospital .Beatrice Page age23yrs.She was born in Newport S. Wales.Ican`t find any trace of her after that. There was talk in the family about a man called Lynam but I have found no trace that she married him.Ido know she never came home to Wales,so I know how you feel.Roll on the1911 census! regards Gwyn |

On the offchance that he stayed in Featherstone (which was in Pontefract reg district) - I checked that district for deaths and marriages up to 1920 on Family Relatives. Results - nil!! Obviously he still might have been there - not married, but died after 1920?? Roll on Family Relatives getting further on than 1920 with their transcribing (it has said, ''Coming Soon'' for ever lol) MMM |
