I have an Obadiah Whybrew who I have found quite easily on the 1861, 1871, 1891 and 1901 censuses. I cannot find him in 1881 and was wondering if someone else could double check in case I am going mad! His surname is often misspelt, and he was born in about 1858 in Belchamp Otten, Essex. He didn't marry until abt. 1885. In 1861 and 1871 he was in Belchmp Otten, but by 1891 the family had moved to Hasland, Derbyshire. Thanks, Sharon |

Glad to help. I just looked for Obed* born Essex 1858 +/- a year and that entry popped out at me. Lucky he had such an unusual name and a not common second name. If he was John Smith I wouldn't have bothered to look! nell |
