Hi All, I have just checked some of the possibles but I don't think they are mine, I was thinking the East Molesey one could have been but I found him in other censuses. I will just have to keep looking. Debbie

I've found an Alfred Mager who is a Labourer aged 22. He is a Lodger in the household of a Charles Longhurst. This Alfred is living in East Moseley and it says he was born in East Moseley though - is that anywhere near Norwood? The birthplace could be a mistake (especially as he is only a lodger in the household).

Found an Alfred born 1858 Norwood. Wondering if Heath is a mistranscription for Meager? H and M can look similar, and then ea are the same. The only Alfred Meager I can find in 1881 census was born in 1876, and his father was William. Sorry, Kath. x

Can any one help? I can't find an ancestor in the 1881 census and I am really curious as to his whereabouts. His name is Alfred Meager and he was born 1858 in Norwood,Surrey his occupation in other census' was Labourer or Gardener. He did not marry until 1884. hope you can help. Debbie
