Is it possible to download the actual scanned 1881 Census images at the FamilySearch website? If so, how? |

No, it isn't. But if you find your family and get the reference number - RG and folio, page etc and put a nice notice on the REcords office board, someone with a sub to Ancestry might be able to send you the image. nell |

1881 is free on family search, but you only have access to the transcribed pages, NOT the original images. nell |

Jim I just tried Ancestry 1881 and when I clicked on the icon for the image it took me to a page to subscribe. So it looks like you can search but not view the image for free. Pity, I could have done with seeing the particular image. Lynne |
