There are loads. It depends on where you are now, and what you want to find out. There's Ancestry - good for censuses (England & Wales and/or USA) FreeBMD - useful for most Births, Marriages and Deaths up to 1910. 1837online or FamilyRelatives.org - has BMDs up to 2002. Some counties have their own, more comprehensive BMD lists. These can be found on UKBMD.org.uk Pre-1837 you need parish records. Some are on the LDS website FamilySearch.org, on the International Genealogical Index.

FREE DATABASES FOR GENEALOGICAL SEARCHING FAMILIA type these in your search box. when youve found them, put them on your favourites list. the first one is a great link to so many sites. the second one is quite unique in that it gives you a ready made source of contacts for all library reference sources. there may be specialist sites for your particular area....... for instance cambridge is quite unusual in having an up to date speedy bmd site called Camdex which gives you the opportunity to do a 20 year scan for any birth, marriage or death at the click of a button, unlike the other sites that require year by year searches. in addition............ BRITISH ORIGINS this site has a lot of old records-wills,military attestations, boyds entries,1841,1871 census images, areas of speciality are somerset ,london, devon, cornwall, other counties being added. FREECEN Ongoing project fre of charge. Some areas are totally covered from 1841,eg devon and cornwall, parts of scotland, wales, and other counties.

You don't give any dates. The last available census is 1901. Then you can check Freebmd for births, marriages, deaths up to 1910. After that you have to go through civil registration indexes quarter by quarter, year by year. nell
