Sue Well if you find lots of rellies on it, yes it's worth it and if you don't no it's not! I've only found one relative, in Boyd's marriage index and a family on 1841 census. I could have got this info elsewhere, so I suppose I was paying for convenience. nell

It depends where your relatives came from and whether they were ever apprenticed, in the military or left wills. Many of the British Origins resources seem quite London-centric. For less than a tenner, once the 1841 census is complete it will be worth taking out the 72-hour subscription, at least. Even if the other resources don't yield results, you should be able to find a few families on the census.

Its very good for somerset, devon etc.The census images can be magnified to a high degree compared to others. They have added other areas recently. Ive got annual membership,if you want to give it a trial run, give me a nudge, and well see if any of your folks are there.

Sue, have you tried familyhistoryonline(.)net? Their site has a fair bit of stuff for Somerset, and I think its better value? Sarah
