I have gone in to add some new relatives on GR for the first time in ages only to find it's all changed. And I have well and truly messed it up and can't seem to correct it! Can anybody help me? What is happening is that offspring are shown with a different mother than the actual mother and partner of the father. It won't let me delete (mother) and I don't see how I can reassign the child to the correct mother. There should only be one woman here. Please help me. Thanks, Sharon

Are there any other children assigned to this menage a trois? Beth :)

You'll have to delete the children, then re-arrange the adults , then add the children again, in the right place jess

I think you can delete someone if they have no descendants. The mother won't delete because of the children. You'll have to start deleting at the bottom with the children or their children. Alternatively you used to be able to edit someone's name - not sure if this is still helpful though. Anne

If there are no other children involved, correct the mother's details so you have two the same - put a ? or something to denote which is the amended one then delete the spare. Beth :)

Hi Beth, sort of. :-) I have worked out the only way to do it is to delete, in order, the people I just added and re-add them correctly! I made the mistake of thinking that 'add mother' would put the details in the 'mother' box it had already created. I was wrong! Never mind. we live and learn! Sharon
