having trundled through some death certs, I have found that one of my people was born 3 months after the other one! could it be that he, Edward, was in fact not a son of my Sarah, but a Son of her Mother? if you get me! I do know sarahs Mother remarried, but she would have been pushing 50! The informant was my grandmother, a daughter of Sarah

It could be she was a year or two out with the birth date. It's not uncommon for death certs to be wildly out (June Lewis has one 9yrs out). Do you have the birth certs for both chidren? Only that would confirm their mothers.

thats my next move! however, should I look up both Mothers New surname, which would be Jones (married 1901) previous name Pratt, or Sarahs married name of Pratt-Roberts! (married 1901) , some children were called Roberts and some pratt roberts! or Sarahs maiden name Pratt, (she already had 2 children befor marriage and called them Pratt( sending off for those who I know she had before marriage!) its all too confusing!

I'm confused just readng that lol I'd start with whatever name is on the death cert. A thought - would the children be on a census at the same time?

2 of the grandchildren called pratt Little are on 1901 census, living with their mother and grandmother, I know that the granny(mary) married again and had 2 more children, but dont know there names, so It possibly maybe one of the 10 that Sarah had!
