Looks like Ilett is her name. You'd need to check the GRO register for her birth though. The German one is someone else. |

There are four copies of this entry on the IGI, but all submitted by a member of the LDS church, so we don't know where he or she got it from, but anyway, looks as though it may have been a family name: Ilet Kerslake Female Family ------------------------------------------------------------------ Event(s): Birth: Christening: Death: Burial: --------------------------------------------------------------------- Marriages: Spouse: Robert Norman Family Marriage: 25 NOV 1799 Wellington, Somerset, England Kate. |

Also there is this entry: Kerslake Miss Ilett, fruiterer, Westexe north in the 'Tiverton' section of a Devon directory that is on ancestry, but I haven't managed to work out what year it is from. Anyway, it is definitely Ilett. Kate. |

Ilett is a surname so probably just a parents' or grandparents' name being used as a first name. There are lots of people using various spellings of 'Daley' as a first name in my family (or more correctly second name as in John Daley BRISCOE). These all go back to my Great Great Grandmother's maiden name. I just did a quick web search and there are message boards for the surname 'Ilett', try asking there if anyone has come across its use as a first name. You might even find where it originated. MB |
