Uploading tree - has this problem not been solved

In a rare moment of total abandon, I have just tried to upload my tree to GR again, as I have added quite a few people since I last did it. Follow the instructions to the letter. Click on the 'Import File' button. Nothing. Wait a few minutes, try again. Nothing. Wait half an hour. Still nothing. Am I take it that this problem has not been solved after all. Ah well, at least it has solved the problem of the relatives missing off my tree - I'm the only one there now. Anyone seen 768 people floating around?

Hi, have a simular problem but with downloading my GR tree, it saves only 13 random names from the tree, instead of the 179 I have on my tree at present, it worked fine last week the first time i downloaded, is anybody having the same problem?. I am still waiting for a reply from GR, I emailed them yesterday with the problem. regards Peter

I just tried again, and it has loaded. Think it must be an intermittant thing.

Oh, lucky you, Tracy. I have been trying intermittently all evening but to no avail. Have emailed GR, although Peter's reply does not fill me with a lot of hope. I won't hold my breath. Shall give it another go in the morning. We shall see. Anyone else out there left with nothing but a sapling?

I finally managed to get my Tree on GR this afternoon, but only by emailing it to one of the Staff who entered it from their end. It seems to me that when you click on the final Import button the link is not registering.

Ha, cracked it! I normally use Mozilla Firefox as my browser (so much safer). However, just to see, I opened Internet Explorer instead and tried it that way. It works! So if the problem is with Mozilla, please GR, why have you simply not put an announcement somewhere obvious on the site to let us know this! Mind you, I still have four more people listed on my homepage than show on my tree. No further forward there, then.

Hi, I seem to be having a problem uploading an updated version of my tree. I delete the tree as it is, so there is only me left, then save the Gedcom (I use PAF and save it as an ANSI file as I always have done). when I try and reload the tree, I get an email from them saying that the header and footers are incorrect - what have they changed, it used to do it immediately - now it tells you that you'll get an email when it has been completed and then mails saying there's a fault. I haven't changed anything I do, anyone any ideas. thanks Trudy

Trudy I think it has to be a GEDCOM. (I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong). Lynne

Trudy, I saved mine as Ansel, from a Paf. Not sure why yours won't upload. It should work in Ansi format too. Can you open the Gedcom file in a text editor, like Notepad, and check the Head and Trail have a 0 before them? Maybe it has something to do with that?
