I have decided to buy some cds and ref books to help me in my quest to find my rellies(don't know why they didn't leave me anything)I am a bit skint at the minute coz i'm off on my hols next week! is the a nearly new site or OK! a really cheap next to nothing site where i can get them from? Also what books and cds are reccomended..and if i did have to pay full whack are they really expensive?.....MOE! |

First, decide which area(s) and times you are most in need of. Then see if you can get the info elsewhere - maybe the local family history society has done a transcript of censuses? Perhaps you could join a society which owns CDs to lend to its members? Most books you can get from your local public library through the inter-library lending scheme. nell |

thanks for that helen.I need Lancashire/scotland/ireland once my rellies hit liverpool they never moved anywhere else(except to the local graveyard) sorry bad taste! how do you join these clubs? i have a mental picture of trainspotter looking people sitting in a circle discussing great grandma nellies varicose veins,don't mean to offend anyone it was just a flash its gone now..MOE! |

This is the Liverpool FHS: http://www.liverpool-genealogy.org.uk/home.htm. There are several Irish FHSs listed at: http://www.genuki.org.uk/big/irl/#Societies There are sometimes CDs on Ebay, but check these sometimes go for more than new ones would cost and there have recently been some cases of dodgy CDs being sold. |
