Sue, The 1900 census says he was born in April. You can see him on the 1880 census as Jeremiah Cormba with his parents on Family Search. Looks to have been born in Milford. Hi Marilyn and thanks for replying. I've never had to search US records before, just helping a friend get started and she is looking for Jeremiah COMBA - birth and marriage in Massachusetts. He was born c1864. Will look at the site you mention but any help much appreciated. Sue

There is no BMD Index for the USA. The Social Security Death Index may be helpful and you can access it at the Family Search site. Individual states may have some information online - what state are you interested in?
