Can someone tell me if you can order a death certificate like you can a birth cert. i have the name and page and volume details. what info would the cert give me? thanks linda x

yes you order them in pritty much the same way as birth or marriage they can be quite useful, I have ordered both my gr-grandfather & gr-gr-grandfathers and learnt that the later commited suicide by cutting his throat with a razor blade the info covered on them is 1, When & where died 2, name & surname 3, sex 4, age 5, occupation 6, cause of death 7, signature, discription & residence of informant 8, When registered 9, signature of registrar on both my cert's an inquest was held and i believe that these can be viewed at either local library or archive centre but not sure. regards Martin

sure you can order death certs. it would tell you name and address of deceased, age at death, occupation, where death occured, what they died of, who reported death to bmd office and doctor's name. at least this is on the copy i have of my ancestors Tricia
