Wonder if someone could help. Have been looking for the record of my grandmother Florence Annie Goode birth. Have found on 1901 cencus says born Highgate london. Have found two entries in 1837 one in Islington, one in West Ham. Both dates tie up with marriage cert i have. Does anyone know if either would have been Highgate? Thank you. sue

Highgate is London N6 so Islington is possibly the answer. Pam Best

Highgate is definitely Islington - there's a tube station of that name on the Northern line and it is near Hampstead. It's famous for the Highgate Cemetery in which Karl Marx, Radclyffe Hall and various other famous folk are interred. Nell
