im looking for Alfred Osborne born c 1844 in Rattlesdon Suffolk. In 1881 he was a post master and Ag Labourer and is my gr,gr grandad. i believe i have found him in 1871 living with a Harriett Creek and her husband (cant remember his name now), but cant find him in 1861 or his birth. I have no idea what is near Rattlesden, i think Bury-St-Edmunds.

Excellent, will order his birth cert and see who his dad was! As an added extra, dont suppose anyone can find his marriage to Maria ? I believe she already had a son as Alfred Osborne age 13 was stepson in 1881, so she may have been married before. My g'nan was born in 1872 so i presume they married in the 1860's.

no worries, have found Maria thanks to her son Alfred Alderton (Alfreds step son!)
