name changed by deedpoll could I find records

a relative came here from Russia signed at the police station every week as a foreigner he was given a job but they said it would be better if he changed his name so he did so by deedpoll as it was officially done and over 50 years ago would there be a way of getting the records thanks |

Documents known as Deed Polls are kept in books lodged with The National Archive at Kew. From 1914 it was necessary, in order to enroll the deed at court, to advertise the change of name in the London Gazette. Pam Best |
