the occupation 'Annuitant' ? I havent got a clue. This was the occupation given to a female head of household on the 1881 census. Thanks Michelle. |

Annuities are yearly (from annual) payments. People could pay into a scheme rather like a pension, or they could be left an annuity in a will, either by a relative or perhaps a former employer. nell |
