I've recently copied several years of Births from 1837online for the surname Lee looking in the Rotherham area for my Rellies i came across the maiden name Gwyn,Gwynn and Gwyne. What are the chances that this is the same woman?? I know that a relly married a Dora Gwyn but without ordering all three certs how do i know if these are all there kids?? any help is welcomely recieved Regards Martin |

You could order the certificates, one at a time, giving the mother's first name of Dora as a checking point. At least this way if it's the wrong certificate they will not issue it and it will only cost you the £3 search fee (through the GRO). Or you could order them from the relevant register office with the same checking point, and most register offices won't charge at all if Dora isn't the mother's name. Kath. x |

I would say that it's very likely to be the same mother. HOWEVER My nephew has an unusual surname and married someone with maiden name POWELL. On checking the GRO, I came across several children's birth entries for his surname, with mother's maiden name Powell but they were NOT his children, or hers. Gwyn |
