New Tree Builder - Unknown Unknown??

I uploaded my tree the other day and was told I had 350 people although my Gedcom only had 314! Someone on here suggested it was because I had 'Unknown' in place of some names so I deleted my tree from here, amended my Gedcom with made up names and reloaded it. Now I have 346 people and when I checked there were 32 Unknown Unknown names in it. Whats all that about, where did they come from. They are not on my Gedcom so why has GR put them in my tree??? Does anyone else have this problem or know why it has happened? I have emailed GR to ask them but they are so slow at responding lately (they haven't responded to my email a couple of weeks ago about a contact that will not delete). Any advice appreciated. Lynne

Hi Lynn I had this problem. On my FTM2005 tree, if I have a female and I have her fathers name from the marriage cert, I have added it and left the mother blank as obviously I don't know her name. When I uploaded the file from FTM to this site, it added UNKNOWN UNKNOWN as the mother. I doesn't seem to let you add a father to a person without also adding the mother. Sam x

Sam Thank you for your response (it's more than I've had from GR - LOL!). That is absolutely stupid isn't it. If we don't know someone's name then we don't put them in our tree - makes sense to me! GR are doing my head in lately! Lynne
