Could anyone tell me what I would find in apprentice records dating from c1810? Would you find place of birth of the apprentice, name of father....? Thanks, Gillian

I think some are kept at county records offices. This is the National Archives online research leaflet about apprentice records in genealogy: http://www.catalogue.nationalarchives.gov.uk/RdLeaflet.asp?sLeafletID=295 nell

Hi Helen, Thanks. There could be a chance that I could find at least a father's name which would be v helpful. My ancestor died before 1841 (no census details) & there's nothing in the IGI for him!! Gillian
