Could it be that they will be put on later, or were they just missed? Lynda from Wales |

Lynda, I couldn't find one of my families on 1861, but knew that they were 'around'. My G-G-G'Dad James William Leary was head of the household, and Hannah his wife and their 4 children. Eventually I found him as 'Jane A Leary', with Hannah and the kids! Hows about trying just the surname and district? Or have you done that. I've found several rellies mis-transcribed. Good luck! x |

Thanks to Lynn and Glenys Have found them now. I am sure they are the ones you found Lynn. How did you do it? The info is too similar to be a coincidence. I don't know what they were playing at though? Thank you all for your help Lynda |

think the 1858 child is recorded as JOSH in the transcription- could be the joseph that appears later |

As Mary Ann was missing I went in search of her. I think she may be listed as Mary Ann Allis working as a servant for, wait for it .. a family called Smith about 5 miles away in Norton. At first I wondered if maybe the enumerator was a bit deaf but maybe there is a Smith connection. |

Hi Lynda, I found your family by just inputting Rachel's first name, birth year and birthplace. I thought if you couldn't find them that the surname must have been mis-transcribed. When I saw that the names all seemed to be the same names as those you were seeking, I guessed it must be them. By the way, I have often seen Mary Anns referred to variously as Ann or Mary. Many of these enumerators/transcribers were not very accurate! That's putting it mildly! Glad to have been of help. Best regards, Lynn |
