I have been looking for my partners birth father on and off for a while now with very little info to go on, I have a name and address i would like to maybe contact,but i don't know if this is the right person or if he even knows he may have a son! I would like to write a letter but have no idea what to say and do not want to point the finger or upset anyone as i understand he probally has a family of his own. help please Nicky.x

How about something along the lines of Hi, My name is Nicky and I was wondering if you might be the Fred Bloggs that lived such and such in 19XX. If so, I'd really like to speak with you. My contact details are Thanks very much Nicky Would that do until you knew if it was the right chap and then you could broach the matter of your partner later Beth :)

I apprrevciate that you are doing the leg work, but suggest when the time comes the letter is written by his son, not you. keep it brief, keep it simply and include and sae
