Hi Is the only way to find pre: 1837 births is to go to the records office in the county they were born other than IGI. Thank you Margaret

You could go to an LDS Family History Centre if you have one near you (there's a list of addresses on their website) and order the parish records for the place you need. It costs a couple of pounds and when the film arrives they keep it at your local office for about a month to give you time to look through it. Kath. x

Some family history societies have transcripts of baptism registers. Some are online at www family history online com [put . in the spaces] The Society of Genealogists has a large collection of baptism registers, but you have to pay to use the library and get to London too! nell
