im told that a martha and john hodgkinson owned a shop aroud 1940 i no where about it was (area) but where would i be able to get more info from |

Contact the local newspaper for the area and see if they have any info. They may have photos particularly if there was any bomb damage in the street. What about writing to retirement or nursing homes in the area with a flyer saying Do you remember the ????shop run by Martha and John Hodgkinson in X area? Ask for any memories - you may find people that went to school with their children, etc. Include your address and offer to reimburse postage, although most won't begrudge a stamp. It may prove fruitful. Beth :) |

See if there's a local history centre nearby - they have street directories and often indexes to local businesses and people. nell |
