Hi could anyone help please. Have been unable to find any record of my grandfathers birth. His name was Harry Bull. His father (according to marriage certificate) was Henry Roger Bull. He was married in 1921 to Florence Annie Goode. Marriage cert states he was 27, so was born about 1894? Thank you. sue

There are quite a lot of Harry Bull's on Ancestry. Do you have any idea of where he was born (town?, county?). Kath. x

Susan Could it be the son was also Henry but known as Harry? I found these: International Genealogical Index - British Isles 1. Roger as a middle name in Victorian times seems to be pretty rare. I wonder if this is Harry's parents marriage? Marriages Jun 1895 Bull Henry Rodger B Huddersfield 9a 433 Haigh Sarah Ann Huddersfield 9a 433 However, when I looked for the same couple in 1901 they have no children at home: Henry R B Bull abt 1872 Whitefield, Yorkshire, England Head Dalton Yorkshire Sarah A Bull abt 1874 Huddersfield, Yorkshire, England Wife Dalton Yorkshire I am posting this anyway, to save others from looking at the same! I found the marriage that you mention Susan, and it was in Willesden. The only Harry Bull with father Henry in 1901 census in Willesden, gives his birthplace as Barking Essex. He is the right age. Have found this birth which I think will be the right one registered in Romford (this includes Barking). You could order the certificate and give his father's name as a checking point:- Harry Bull Sept. qtr. 1893, Romford, 4a, 429 Hope this helps. I have saved the census image if you'd like it. Kath. x
