In June 1842 Charlotte COOPER married Zachariah MOORE - I have the certificate and his father is given as Zachariah COOPER - in 1846 Charlotte MOORE married Samuel THROWER and in 1850 a son John was born, mother's name Charlotte THROWER late MOORE formerly COOPER - my problem is that I cannot find a record of the death of Zachariah MOORE...did she commit bigamy????? There is however a death of Zachariah COOPER in the right district in 1843......would a copy of this certificate help me in any way....opinions please....please....please... |

I suppose it could! I wonder if your Zac was illegitimate and that is why his father had the other surname - maybe he usually went by his father's surname but used his ''true'' surname whan he married? It is such an early date it is hard to try and confirm any other way as to whether you have one man or two. if it was me i would probably buy the cert to see if it was him. Suppose you could order it with a checking ref, (dec'd must be aged at least X years), to eliminate the death of a child. You would then have to hope it was his wife who registered the death! Sarah |
