emigration to Oz 1950's/60's

can anyone tell me how i would go about finding someone that emigrated to Australia in the late 1950's early 1960's.I don't know where in Oz they went to only their name and where they came from, |

Hi Karen. You could try these two links. Search now... as a guest. Type in Surname and or given name.Keywords (or name) eg:( Mary Smith ) Click on SEARCH http://www.naa.gov.au/The_Collection/recordsearch.html or....you could try the on line Australian White Pages directory, if you think these folk are still living. Remove ( ) http://www.whitepages(.)com(.)au/wp/resSearch(.)jhtml Go To Residential....fill out what you know. Unfortunatley, because you dont know what State or Territory your looking for, it may take some time to check for the Surname in each State/Territory in Australia. Good Luck . Tony Oz |

Hi Tony, thanks,i'll give them a go.I know that one of the people is problably ded(born1896ish) but her children might be alive, i fear it may be like looking for a needle in a haystack, thanks again, Karen x |

Karen If you have not found them already, email the names and other information and I will have a look for you. I have spent quite a lot of time on the NAA site and found a numbr of people for others on this site. I can also go in and get photocopies of records if they are held where I live. JA |
