I am trying to trace the birth of my great grandfather, William Kircher. He was born in approximately 1883 and I assume that as his siblings were born in east London so was he. He married Mary Lilian Carter in 1923 and died on 10 January 1941 in Portsmouth. I have marriage and death certificates. His parents were Reuben Kircher and Eliza Baigent who married in 1873 in Farnham. I have found the following on the 1881 census but I have not found the family on 1891 census. that 7-month baby George W in 1881, his middle name is William according to the GRO index. Are you sure he isn't the one you want? Ages can't be trusted

Many thanks for all your help. Tracey, yes that is them. Robin, I thought that also but I'm not 100% sure it is him as none of the other documentation mentions the name George. In addition there was another son born in 1876 whose middle name was also William. So I guess the name runs in the fmaily. Sophie, I'll have a look at that birth. Michelle
