Has anyone used the geneanet website. I just found it and it is quite good. You search a surname and location and it brings up family trees with those names. http://www(.)geneanet(.)org/ remove brackets |

Siobhan Tip: if the webaddress has org or gov in the addy, you don't need to bung brackets around it. It's only dot co, dot com and dot net that don't appear unless you disguise them. Just off to check out the genanet site now. nell |

A lot, but not all, of the Geneanet contents seems to overlap the Rootsweb WorldConnect contents. There also seems to be quiet a bit of wholesale importing of data from other trees (often without permission) occuring by some who post on both sites, so its hard to know who did the original research (if any) and how accurate it might be. None the less, with those caveats in mind, the search facilities are quite good and I have found some useful information through Geneanet. Cheers, Bill Sydney, Australia |
