advice, re wording on marriage certificate please

Hi The certificates I have all show the place the couple were living at the time of their marriage, not their place of birth. I have traced some births of the married couple by finding their fathers and working forward to find the couples births. Hope this helps. Kathy

Probably just living and working there. Obviously, he might have been born there too, but I don't think this is what is meant by the marriage cert entry. Sarah

hi i have a marriage certificate which say william astill, servant of anstey, does this mean he was born in anstey or just working there, any help appreciated marciex
