I have an old photo of my great uncle taken I think in the early days of ww1. Does any one have any idea or advise as to how I can find his regiment. He was killed during the first world war. The photo is not very clear. Many Thanks Dodo |

Hi Doreen I had exactly the same problem for almost 6 months, put a thread on on Sunday and received the following reply: 'Have you tried the National Army Museum? You can e-mail them and send them a copy of your photo and they might be able to help you. http://www(.)national-army-museum.ac.uk/ (remove bracket) When you reach the home page, look to the top and you will see research info - click on that and then go right to the bottom of the next page and you will see an e-mail link to: The Department of Uniform, Badges and Medals' I emailed them a copy of the picture on Sunday evening and this morning had a reply from a lovely lady identifying the regiment for me - well worth the effort, and really friendly too. Regards Trudy |
