Thanks Cherie, so do you have the full 12 volumes on your disc please?

Hi Heather, Sorry, but my disc doesn't cover the areas you mentioned. As I wasn't sure where they were I checked my disc just in case but there were no Selbys or Horsteads at all. The parishes covered by my disc are Grimston, Congham, Flitcham, Hillington, Roydon, Castle Rising, North Wooton, South Wooton and Gaywood. At least you can cross them off your list! Hope you find them soon! Regards Cherie

Many thanks guys. Cherie, I am trying to find (as if the world and its auntie doesnt know by now!!) the marriage of Edward Horstead and Elizabeth Selby. I cant find their marriage or their births but from a settlement certificate in April 1763 it seems they were in Ketteringham, Norfolk and moving a mile up the road to East Carleton. I cant find any Selby family anywhere in the area and would love to know where they were at the time of the marriage. In 1763 there are no children mentioned on the certificate of settlement but a reference to 'any child or children they may have hereafter' so I am assuming (yep, I know, shouldnt do that!) that they moved from Ketteringham to East Carleton just after they married. The next time I find them is at the baptism of the fourth child, Bridget in 1770 back in Ketteringham. I believe both villages will be under Henstead district. Would be grateful for any help.

Heather - I am signing off for tonight. Feel free to send me a personal message further to my above comments - if you can with all the errors I'm reading about! If not, I will check this thread again when I can. Regards Cherie

Heather The Phillimore volumes for Norfolk used to be regarded as rather dubious. One of the transcribers was not supposed to be very good. They don't cover any of the parishes I am interested in, so I've never been in a position to judge for myself. At least, now we are used to Ancestry, we are a bit more clued up about transcription errors, so finding things should be easier.

Hi Heather, I have one of the discs. The information given is the parish the marriage took place, the names of the bride and groom, whether they were widowed, whether they were from that parish or another parish, the date of the marriage and whether the marriage was by banns or licence. Is there a particular parish you are interested in? If so, let me know and if it is on my disc I will look it up for you. Regards Cherie

I noticed in my Norfolk Roots Magazine that there are 14 cds for Norfolk at about £18 - do they contain anything other than can be gleaned from other sources please?
