PAYPAL VIRUS WARNING

I received an email this morning from Paypal 'Receipt of your payment' me being stupid opened it! it is a virus. It's size is 24kb. Kim

I think the grammar gives it away. But it's a real pain when whhat should be a legitimate mail turns out to be hijacked by a virus. The standard format for Paypal receipt-headers is: Receipt for Your Payment [to XXXXX] where the bit [in square brackets] is optional. The critical bit is that it's a receipt 'for' not 'of'. (If, as often happens when I type, your 'of' was really a 'for' with the letters transposed and a lost 'r', then the problem is a bit bigger.) Christine

Hello - I had this this morning too. It stated that I had bought a sex toy. Oh pleeeeeeeeeeeese. I opened it and then sent it to the spam option. Hope I have'nt done any damage. Hope no-one gets caught - Shirli

When I received it I was furious as I hadn't bought anything on ebay yesterday so assumed my son had and wanted to know how much he's spent on my card! that's why I opened it. Norton thru up a very large red box for me tho! Did a full scan and nothing was found thank goodness Kim

I have just had one aswell, I was furious and still am. It says I bought a sex toy also and I have been charged $1951.00. I checked my acount and thankfully no payment has come out. Absolutly disgraceful.

Joanne, What the hell were you meant to have purchased for that price?? :-)) If you actually receive it, hope your insurance is 'New of Old' !! As it must be damn good for that amount of money! pmsl! Kim
