EXPIRATION DATES EXTENDED... In response to feedback from those of you who have sent us emails, talked to us on the phone or who we have met at events, we have decided to extend the time frame in which your units expire, eg, rather than £5 worth of units expiring after 45 days, we have now extended this to 90 days. A full list of the extended time frames is below: 50 units for £5 now expire after 90 days (instead of 45) 111 units for £10 now expire after 90 days (instead of 60) 176 units for £15 now expire after 120 days (instead of 90) 313 units for £25 now expire after 365 days (instead of 120) 810 units for £60 still expire after 365 days 2400 units for £120 still expire after 365 days The offer of 10% extra units, which ran whilst we were reviewing the quality of our birth, marriage and death images has also now come to an end. The offer was originally provided to compensate you for the fact that a tiny number of our images are slightly difficult to read. In cases where we have been unable to improve this quality because the original records are in poor condition, these images are now marked as free. |

Julie Yes I recieved that too. Very kind of them to extend the timeframe. Have they done that to cover up the fact that they have increased the search charges, as they have reduce the amout of credits you get for your money. Sneaky. Not too happy. Victor |

I also hadn't noticed an increase in charges, maybe Victor your correct in saying it was to cover up extra costs. Julie |

I assume that it's simply that - as it says - they are removing the free extra amount that has been there so long it feels like normal. But it was always described as an extra to compensate for iffy images. I was surprised to find just how long it did last. Effectively you now pay more for your searches because you're not getting the discount on the credits. I didn't think it meant they actually charge more credits per search - except (?I gather - haven't had to use them) for more recent searches. Christine |

I am surprised the extra units have lasted this long. Also, the change from first three letter searches to full name substantially reduced the number of units needed for a search. The extension of the time to use the units is most welcome. Jolly good value, saves a load of time and travel costs. If only the same organisation ran the 1901 census! |
