There is this marriage which is close by to St George in the East, but there are a lot of William Goodwin's about, so you would need to cross-ref to a child's birth cert, as I already said, (rambling again lol) WILLIAM GOODWIN Male Marriages: Spouse: MATILDA AMELIA BIRD Marriage: 08 APR 1849 Saint Dunstan, Stepney, London, England Same marriage: Marriages Jun 1849 Bird Matilda Amelia Stepney 2 483 Goodwin William Stepney 2 483 Sarah |

Assuming this is them in 1871: John Goodwin abt 1864 St George in the East, Middlesex, England Son St George in the East London Matilda Goodwin abt 1828 Clerkenwell, Middlesex, England Wife St George in the East London Matilda Goodwin abt 1854 St George in the East, Middlesex, England Daughter St George in the East London Robert Goodwin abt 1858 St George in the East, Middlesex, England Son St George in the East London William Goodwin abt 1822 St George in the East, Middlesex, England Head St George in the East London William Goodwin abt 1856 St George in the East, Middlesex, England Son St George in the East London Henry Hade abt 1856 St George in the East, Middlesex, England Son St George in the East do you have the birth cert for any of these children? The safest way to know you are on the right track would be to get the birth cert for one of the children - maybe the one with the least common name, to be sure of getting the right family. The birth cert will give you the mother's maiden name, which will help a great deal when getting the marriage cert for the parents. Sarah |

If 1822 and 1828 are their approx birth dates, then they will have married after civil registration began, so the marriage cert should provide their fathers names and occupations. Without further details from you about what you have found, it is difficult to give suggestions. Sarah |

Have you found them on the 1851 census? That should give you the places of birth. Then you can check the IGI to see if their baptisms are there - if they are, you will have their parents names. If they are not on the IGI, you need to check the parish records for the appropriate area. Also if you can locate them on the 1841 census they may still be young enough to be living with their parents. Sam x |

Now with no BMD's records after 1837... Im lost. Any hints, help or tips... would be deeply appricated. Kind Regards: Steven Goodwin |
