Hi I believe i have found the medal card for my grandad, is it worth paying the £3.50 for it and what does it tell me?

I got one but it wasnt very good. didnt tell me anything other than it was a medal for fighting in France. I also found one where it lists either different regiments or different ranks apparetly on one card, does anyone know what that means?

I received two medal cards. I honestly didn't think they were worth the money as they didn't tell me anymore than I had found out from the CWG site. My opinion, of course. I thought the money for the death certificates was better spent, although more expensive of course. Susan

I gather from this and previous threads - and my own experience - that the amount of info varies from card to card. One important thing to watch out for - read the instructions about the references very carefully. If you decide that more than one card looks possible, they might both be on the same image and you need pay only once! Christine

Why don't I copy it for you when I go to Kew in August - it will cost you 25p!!! Or I can tell you what is on it and you can decide whether to get a more professional copy from them? Have you also checked for his records - I can easily do that if he isn't Smith, Brown etc etc!! Jan

Hubby's grandfather's card shows the medals he was awarded for fighting in France, but then that they were withdrawn because he never actually went abroad!! Sarah
