oh my god, you guys....... Thank you so much! yes that's her in 1881, and that must be her in 1891. No wonder I couldn't find her with a name like Sophus! (sorry I had got all confused about her age in 1881, been going round in circles with this one all day!) And those death entries sound very promising - will start investigating. What would I do without you????? You are all stars!

Lib -- the one you found in 1881, age 59, she's still alive in 1891, mistranscribed as Sophus Rose, age 70, still in Harborne with the Plants. If I'd read your earlier message more carefully, I'd have noticed that Harborne is stated to be in Kings Norton district. So I think this one is the 1893 death. Whether she's the one Mandy wants, dunno

maybe it's 1891 where she's 70. This would fit: Deaths 1893 Apr-Jun Kings Norton 6c 248 Rose Sophia age 72 Kings Norton district included Edgbaston and Balsall Heath, which are only a couple of miles from the centre of Birmingham

I wouldn't get too excited about that 1889 death if I were you... Births Sep 1889 ------------------------------------------------------------------- Rose Sophia Aston 6d 325 (Aston is part of Birmingham.) Kate.

Mandy This is the only one I could see on FamilyRelatives between 1881 and 1920: Rose Sophia Birmingham 6d 57 Death Q4 1889 There were 39 others, but this is the only one in Birmingham. Hope it helps. Suzy

I hate asking again, but you are always so helpful......wub, wub! I am looking for a death of Sophia Rose. The last record I have of her is aged 70 in the 1881 census. She spent all her life in Bham, so I assume she died there too. I have searched ancestory.com, freebmd and familysearch.org. I have tried searching for similar names. This lady is proving hard to find! Don't know where else to look. Any help would be gratefully recieved. Thanks
