Do you remember?... and did you prefer?...

I've just e-mailed Support, because it really bugs me that the old arrangement for viewing matches got dropped with the 'upgrade' a while ago. It used to 'remember' that you liked to view one day's worth of new names, or one week's worth or whatever. Now it always comes up on 'all' and you have to keep choosing (and waiting while it finds the right lot). - Does it annoy anyone else? - Christine

Ihavn't had an e-mail saying that a new name had been added, for weeks now. Yet I looked at my names the other day and found three new . What IS going on? Jane

I think I shall change my board name to The Whinger, because yes, I do remember the old system and yes I did prefer it when it remembered the time frame that I was interested in. It takes forever to load all the names, a long time to readjust, and I'm not interested in page 1 anyway. I know I'm on dial-up, but broadband at the office is no faster. On the positive side, however, I have only five pages on the Name Summary now, which is much better than having to look at each letter of the alphabet, so GR do sometimes make helpful improvements.

I agree that, in general terms, that arrangement is better - with the name-list and the available matches/messages altogether. It's just, as I say, the fact that it 'forgets' how many days-worth you like to look at. There's another detail, which they might consider. The array of values for messages under history/general/trying-to-find... Once you get to 1-day, most of them are zero. They have them formatted as '0'. If they formatted zero values as '-', non-zero values would show up immediately - it gives a far better visual contrast. (I do that when I'm working with spreadsheets - that also means you save masses of ink when you print!). Christine
