Just found this one & it looks to have alot of info. on it. Mainly Wirksworth area of Derbyshire but worth a look if you are researching in Derbyshire area. Have added it to Veronica's thread as well. Happy Searching. Hilary.

It's a very impressive site... but you didn't put the actual address on this thread! http://www.wirksworth.org.uk/ Incidentally, to save you the typing effort (and others, the deleting effort) you need only to separate a 'dot' and the letters 'CO' when they come in that order. It doesn't matter if 'CO' is the beginning of COmpany, COrnwall, COlleague, CO-operative... whatever it is, GR will suppress it if it comes straight after a 'dot' (and you need to put inverted commas round that, too, or it disappears!). Many people will add an asterisk for later deletion, thus: sitename.*com .net .org .gov are all ok. They don't start CO. Christine

You didn't leave us completely in the lurch - you did tell us where to look for it! Thanks again for the link. Christine

I agree with you - it is a fabulous site. In a perfect world every one of my ancestors would have come from Wirksworth and not moved for 500 years!!! It would have made things so much easier. The site also has loads of information on people from other parts of Derbyshire. I found the details of a will on there for a rellie from Repton, and this enabled me to get a copy of it from the Derbyshire Records Office.
