help! Where do I go next. I need to find either a birth certificate or marriage certificate for Robert Deas born around 1720 I think in Fife Scotland. He had five children with a Helen Inglis in Leslie Fife, but I can't find a record of their marriage either. Any assistance would be appreciated. Elizabeth Wright

Sorry Elizabeth, there is no such thing as a birth or marriage cert. untill the early 1800's In the 1700's you down to church records mainly, although wills and land ownership are possibles.
