So your mum's maiden name is Brain? What happened to her father? I second what Jess says, you have looked for a year, but what records have you checked? Do you have her birth certificate? Have you looked for a death registration online? Do you know if Ethel had a middle name? If so it should be on your mum's birth certificate? She'll be easier to trace if there is a middle name/initial. When were your mother & aunt born? The marriage of their parents probably happened shortly before the eldest was born, another cert worth getting, it will have both their father's names on hopefully. Sam |

Sorry, its early - you are looking for your grandmother? Or relatives? So you have looked for her death certificate and never found it? If you are looking for 'live' people, may be best to put the notice on the trying to find board? I guess you have tried phone books in the area to see anyone else with same name and so on? |

i,m having a real hard time trying to trace information on ethel howe believed born in 1922 in mirfield, this is my mothers,mother who she never met cause her mother died around the age of 34 we believe of cancer, we have only manage to contact one family member who as no information either cause he lost all contact with the family too! so as you acn see its a mystery im so desperate to get info on ethel because i would like to get a photograph as mum and her sister have never known what their mum looked like and it does effect their lifes so maybe a living relative as one i would much appreicate it and maybe find out the truth to who she was and what really happened she had two children as far as i know,but she disappeared and i believe the howe family know nothing of them,we dont even know if she worked or had brothers or sisters and i have been trying for a year this month to no avail! please please if you have any info you would make a family very happy! x |
