A wall was unveiled at the weekend with names of all the airmen who lost their lives. I am going to see if I can find my Uncle Jesse among them. If anyone wants me to look for someone I will. I'll take some pictures as well. Mags |

Capel-le-Ferne is high on the cliffs between Dover and Folkestone. If you are a walker, it is nice place to explore between Dover and Capel starting at the little cafe with ample parking facilities you start by walking down the 'cliff' - make way for the walkers (ramblers) who come from France and Belgium to make the trek. The cafe is the only building, though small, on the cliff side of the road that goes through Capel parallel to the (B2011) which links with the A20. Lots of history in the area as well as the Chunnel entrance. You can also sit on tables outside the cafe and just watch the shipping in the Channel or the trains running along the Channel coast - they appear miniature due to the height. My favourite place to sit and watch the world go by. |
