Hi Deborah, Thanks for the website,I did look there but couldn't find why the coroner would be the informant, it said it is usually done by next of kin, close relative or friend. Lisa |

I have two certs for relations where the coroner issued the death cert after seeing the autopsy report issued. These happened because of sudden death which had to investigated by having an autopsy which determined the cause of death . So ,a coroner would be the one issuing the death cert & the informant would be the DR who did the autopsy. Hope that makes sense. Shirley |

Hi Under what circumstances would a coroner be the informant on a death certificate when there are family? Would it be usual to register the death after an inquest? Please help! Lisa |
