Hi Meercat What do you mean by no certificates? Where they not registered or is it just that they don't possess their certificates? Victor |

Hi, I know how you feel my grandad was born out of wedlock, well there is no father named on birth cert. Then my grt grandmother has a daughter, on her birth cert grt grandmothers details are completely different to those on my grandfathers, a father is named, however grandfather and grt Aunt never met there supposed dad as he was a sales man. Grandad finds out when he wants to get married he is not who he thought he was after all. Soooo confusing and so enoying. There may be 1 member of my family that may know something, but the shame of these ancestors, being devout catholic (lol) we have been told to leave well alone. arghhhh x |

Chin up! Most people's grandfather's were born once registration was compulsory and well-established, so he is there somewhere. Do you have any other contenders? |

I ordered a birth cert for my g'dad that i was convinced was him (paid the extra to have it delievered next day too), and it turns out that wasnt him. We think my nans sides is now going to go nowhere because my nans birth was out of wedlock and we have no idea who the father was, and she was born in a working house. Sorry just a rant really!! |
