Hope this is him on 1871 Census. the print out image was very dark - Carnaby St. 10, Golden Square: Joseph Henry Edwards, age 53 Bookmaker Mary Jane age 52 wife Rebecca age 21 Daughter Alfred age 19 Son Annie age 16 Daughter Henry James age 14 Son John Andrew age 8 Good Luck Elizabeth

If that is him then, even if he was entirely accurate with his age, in 1861 aged 43 could mean born anywhere between 8th April 1817 and 7 th April 1818.

There is a Joseph Henry Edwards on IGI son of John and Dorcas Edwards christened at St.Martin in the Fields Westminster also a brother John William. There are 2 dates which are confusing. 1817/1823 for Joseph. Irene

Cant see him on the IGI the only one near was a boy baptised 1817 parents Joseph and Dorcas. I guess Dorcas would be a name that should come up again! I think its a trip to the LMA?
