Jacqueline I can only be of limited help with the Met Police in London. All other forces either keep their own records or give them to the relevant county records office. You should contact the force in question to find out where their archives are. nell |

I found out quite a bit by tracking down the relevant police museums. Google or whatever is good for that. But (in case you aren't aware) it's worth putting 'police museum' in inverted commas so that Google treats it as a single item and not as two separate things to find. They sent me some really good info (even down to the personal apearance). The other thing is that if you mean the place in Cheshire, I think it's usually spelled 'Wirral' or 'The Wirral' - if you spell it the other way, you may miss out on some info you want. Christine |

hi i have been told one of my ancestors (my brickwall) was in the police force at wirrel, does anyone know how i go about finding out please, i am looking after my grandmothers birth 1909 + my rellie does not know when he joined. kind regards jackie. |
