Have you searched for them just using Christian names and birthplace? Earlier this week at FRC, a friend and I found a family she had searched for for over 10 years. We found them on the 1871 census. Their surname was indexed starting.. 'Sc'.. instead of.. 'B'.. but by putting.. Sarah...wife.... and her birthplace we tracked possible matches then looked at the SHAPE of the surname rather than the spelling. Good luck.

Know how you feel. Been looking for my GGrandad and Grandmothers death for months. Looked through 38 years of GRO indexes. Nothing found. Last seen 1901 Census. Cant wait for 2012 so I can look at the next one. Hope you have better luck than me. Ann

I am trying to find this family in 1901 with no luck, I have them in all previous censuses: Margaret Tetlow, widow, 40, b Pendleton, Lancs, John Richard Tetlow, 14, b Margaret, 13 Albert, 6 I know the eldest two children did from Oct 1898 - April 1899 in Swinton Ind School, then were discharged then John was readmtted in Dec 1901 and discharged March 1902. But why can I not find them in 1901, their mother did not remarry. All children born Manchester.
