Thanks for that If you chop the URL back to the higher level and then roam around you find this site: http://www.workhouses.*com/ (remove*) which looks pretty useful. There's another link to http://www.victorianengland.org.uk but it took a long time to load when I tried - possibly because there are lots of photos, e.g Dorset Street, London, c.1900; Spitalfields, London, c.1900; Down Leman Street To The Docks, Whitechapel, London; Commercial Street, Whitechapel, London, c.1900 It's well-worth book-marking if you want to see some late-19th/early-20th century images of London.
