I should of said i have been down that road no marriage for arthur either, its strange because alfred and arthur ended up with two sisters gertrude bishop and celina sophia bishop i can find there parents no problem, Arthur was described as a hawker, when his son price was born and i know alfred was a farm labourer, who moved around a lot, perhapse it was the gipsie in them and they did not believe in marriage, its so maddening i could scream, jackie

So if Arthur married, you could hunt out his marriage and find the fathers name, even if you have to go about it the long way , by obtaining Prices birth cert, which will give you his mothers maiden name to hunt out the correct marriage and hence find the fathers name for them both Jess

You need your grandad's marriage cert. That will give his father's name and help get a better match in 91 and possibly 01

Jackie, you have so little to go on, is the main problem . There must be thousands of brothers called Arthur/Alfred Jones in 1891, born in Wales. Is their really no way of finding out anything else? Where and when did you grandad marry? - that might help a bit
