Manchester city council libraries have old photos of Salford and Manchester now online includes aerial views of Salford , Regent Rd shops Salfordonline has photos sent in by members Neil Richardson Publications is brilliant for books on salford you can download an order form Heres some of the many titles you can order Hanky Park Salford Docks Salford 1966-1990 Cross Lane Salford pubs History of Salford cinemas Lots of photos and memories of Salford Also have books on other areas in manchester Chris (Salfordian)

Hi Salford Local History Library have a huge number of photographs which are all indexed and which they will copy for you for a small charge. Elaine

Hi Gail Regarding photos of Salford. I have some books with lots of photos. Salford 1940-1969 1966-1990 both by Roy Bullock they include day to day news event and old adverts. For better or for worse by Emily Glencross Salford Memories 1938- 1945 Memories of the Salford Blitz Christmas 1940 by Simon Wright Hanky Park by Tony Flynn True Romances at Manchester Dances Manchesters Dancing Years both by Phil Moss My brother bought these books about 7 years ago they were all under £5.00 then. They are well worth buying I also live in Hampshire (Ringwood) I was borne I Salford but left when I was about 4 yrs regards Chrissie

Thanks to everyone for your advice. Deborah do you mean the place next to the University? I went there once and saw a book on old photo's but did not buy it at the time :-( I live in Hampshire, so I phoned the Salford Library today. The lady I spoke to said she would send me a list of the books they have for sale with photo's of Salford. Once again thanks. Gail.
